Meet Joanna Crowell MS, LPC, LADC, NCC, AADC
I am passionate about helping people make positive changes. Healing is a process of looking toward the future with the wisdom from our past. My role is to encourage and inspire a process that helps you to reassemble your life in a way that fosters greater meaning and purpose. I am here to support you in your healing from trauma, substance use, and difficult life events.
As a trauma specialist, I am a certified EMDR therapist who also holds a certification as a HeartMath practitioner. I believe in integrating holistic health into your healing process.
In my free time, you are likely to find me hiking in the woods, traveling to national parks, spending time with family and friends, or practicing meditation. I devote my personal time to laughter, healthy living, and my own personal well-being.
Sharon Cappella, MS, LPCA
As an emerging counselor, my focus is person-centered. My existential approach helps clients search for meaning. I believe that what we typically label as “pathology” is an imbalance in the self or life path. This imbalance can be emotional, mental, physical, or spiritual. It means the person is not living their best life, truest to their sense of meaning. I seek to help clients explore their lives and themselves to reach goals that ultimately free them from the weight of presenting issues. This approach works well with life challenges, changes, grief, trauma, anxiety, and depression. It was when I found purpose that I began to thrive. My passion is to help others find their peace and purpose by traveling with them along their journey.
I am grateful to be entering this profession. Physical illness, challenges with anxiety and depression, grief and trauma, and care-giving of both loved ones and patients in healthcare were valuable experiences that taught me how to help others. They have given me a relatability to the client that offers added empathy for their experience.
I love to sing, write, especially poetry, and be outdoors, all of which connect me to a higher place within myself. I am also a math minor, and I believe logic coexists with emotion.
Caroline Wallace, B.S.
As an emerging counselor with a person-centered and collaborative approach, I am passionate about supporting individuals through life’s challenges and helping them uncover their strength, clarity, and sense of fulfillment. Grounded in empathy and genuine connection, I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and reconnect with a sense of purpose and happiness. I enjoy creating a space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered on their healing journey.
In my free time, I enjoy coaching and playing soccer, doing yoga, and spending time with my friends and family. I strongly believe in the importance of making time for things that make me happy.
Susan Kolbenheyer, MA, LPCA
Supporting others through life’s challenges is deeply meaningful to me. I believe healing is a personal and powerful journey, one that involves looking forward while integrating the wisdom of our past. My role is to support and empower you as you move through life in a way that aligns with your values, strengths, and purpose.
I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel seen, heard, and accepted just as you are. My approach is person-centered, strengths-based, and humanistic, grounded in the belief that each individual holds the capacity for growth and healing. I specialize in working with young adults, college students, and individuals navigating life transitions. Using a blend of therapeutic modalities including CBT, DBT, and other evidence-based practices, I tailor our work to meet your unique needs while integrating a holistic lens that supports the whole person.
In my free time, you’ll find me soaking in the calm of the beach or enjoying the vibrant energy of the city. I also enjoy reading, making music, spending time with family and friends, and practicing mindfulness. I value laughter, creativity, and a lifestyle rooted in balance and well-being.
Melissa Ortiz-Sinclair, MS, LPC
I am a strength-based and person-centered therapist. I use different modalities within my practice such as CBT, DBT, and am also trained in EMDR. During treatment, I will teach you how to challenge and reframe negative thoughts to build a stronger and more joyful version of yourself. We will work together to find the best tools and modalities to help you meet goals and enhance your life.
I’m empathetic, calm, and passionate about helping clients realize their greatest potential. Outside of learning about the human mind, I am a martial arts enthusiast, and have practiced karate for over a decade. I also enjoy strength training, bird watching, and spending time with my husband and our two rescue cats, Travis, and Odin.
