About

An invitation

Welcome! Before I share anything about myself, I want to extend this invitation to you.

Our therapy sessions will focus on YOU!

When life gets busy and overwhelming, it’s easy to lose yourself in the process of taking care of everything and everyone else FIRST.

Not here. Our sessions will place you in the center – to revolve around your needs, hopes, and dreams.

And so, I invite you – to show up with a willingness to do the work.

And I welcome you – to the exciting process of self-discovery, health, and healing. Change always comes bearing gifts.

A partnership

Therapy is a partnership. Change takes hard work, and it’s not always comfortable and easy. But I’ll always be direct and honest.

There will be times when you’ll find I’m encouraging you to take a deep dive into how you make sense of the world. I’ll guide you through some difficult thoughts and feelings. I may even challenge your beliefs and behaviors.

But I’ll always come from a place of empathy and compassion.

And I’ll always have your best interests in the forefront.

As your therapist, I’ll hold space for you to process the hard stuff. You’ve likely spent a great deal of time burying certain feelings that we’re going to uncover in our sessions.

This is serious business – and the mechanism for change.

We’ll work to move away from depleting emotions and toward renewing and restorative emotions. This process can be painful at times. But it promotes change. And change always comes bearing gifts.

About The Power to Heal:

Joanna Crowell created The Power to Heal to help people reach their full potential. Joanna finds pleasure in the simple things – such as taking her dog for long hikes in the woods or on the beach.

The Power to Heal was created to take a holistic view of clients so that we can help you reach your full potential.

Many of us have experienced struggles in our lives. Joanna walked through the winds of change and came out on the other side stronger, healthier, and more balanced. Therapy helped her survive her teenage years. She was troubled, but eventually, therapy helped her sort through the confusion and contradiction of her life.

And she learned a few things along the way.

Everybody can make profound, positive life changes – no matter how difficult or dark things get.

Joanna personally benefited from EMDR and psychotherapy – they have been game changers for her. She views herself and the world differently as a result. Personal transformation has helped her create a life that is not only worth living, but a life that she truly enjoys. She created this practice to share the endless possibilities of your life with you!

Change always comes bearing gifts.
